North American Riding for the Handicapped Association
- NARHA is a professional organization which promotes ethical and therapeutic equine activities through education and communication and sets standards and is involved in research for people with and without disabilities.
- Their purpose is to promote the rehabilitation of individuals with physical, psychological and learning disabilities through equine-facilitated activities and to help establish therapeutic riding centers.
- Their goal is to help support related medical research and train and certify therapeutic riding instructors and provide affordable liability insurance.
- Currently there are over 600 operating centers in forty-eight states and Canada.
